Oa

NAME:

Oa Lönnbäck, actually Olav but no one knows me by that name, not even my kids… they call me… dad!

AGE:

66 when the trip begins. Still 66 when it ends, unless we’re back home after October.

ABOUT OA:

Works when there is demand for stand-up, conference speaker, lectures (on a wide range of topics) or school culture projects about writing and storytelling. Also receives a stipend every month. It is called a pension, I guess.

BEST AND WORST TRAVEL MEMORY:

I think there will be plenty of new favorite memories during the trip to Basel.
The worst? That time I planned to go to Croatia but didn’t.

FAVORITE SONG OF KAJ:

"Polka på Pittjärv paviljongen."

WHAT ARE YOU MOST AND LEAST LOOKING FORWARD TO ABOUT THE TRIP TO BASEL?

I'm most looking forward to meeting new people, seeing new places, and waking up each morning not knowing where we’ll end up that night. What I look forward to least is driving under stress on big roads.

HIDDEN TALENT:

I can actually be a good listener. Sometimes.

ARE YOU A MORNING OR EVENING PERSON

Definitely a morning person.

WHEN TRAVELING, I'M ALWAYS THE ONE WHO ...

...makes new friends everywhere! I haven't been diagnosed, but I probably have ADNFC, abnormally developed need for contact. I might be a bit of a challenge for my travel companions, though. They tend to get slightly worn out after a few days.

MOTTO FOR THE BASEL TRIP

"I’ve never been here before!" — repeated daily.

WHAT MADE YOU JOIN THE TRIP?

Bad judgment combined with low blood sugar that particular evening. I’m very easy to convince to join crazy ideas — I tend to be overly optimistic about challenges.
